The Community Based Grant Program Guidelines and Application Form were established on September 8, 2010 and allows the City of Coachella to offer financial assistance to local nonprofit organizations, youth-serving organizations, and other community-based organizations that provide essential services, programs and activities to residents in Coachella.
Applicant organizations are only eligible to submit one application for consideration up to $1,000 dollars each fiscal year and must be legally established with non-profit or tax-exempt status and provide direct service to Coachella residents. The Policy encourages a goal of self-sufficiency and approval of grant funds in the current fiscal year does not constitute a precedent for grant allocations in subsequent years. All CBG grants are reimbursement grants to ensure that applicants are meeting their stated goals. The FY 20-21 budget included an allocation of $15,000 for the Community Based Grant Program.
Please review the guidelines below and complete the grant application. Please include with your application submission:
- Copy of IRS Letter of Determination; (this must be current and not outdated)
- Include a budget for your program;
- Include evidence of leveraging – copies of checks or donations received from other donors/funders for the proposed program;
- Do not forget to sign the grant application. Incomplete applications will not be considered.
